Knowledge and expertise:

Deepak Sharma - with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and master's and doctoral degrees in energy economics and policy - is currently Associate Professor and Director of the Energy Planning and Policy Program in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Technology, Sydney. He has about thirty years of professional experience in academia, and the public and private sectors - in national and international settings. He is actively engaged in teaching, research, and consulting in the energy and environmental policy fields. He is a member of the International Association for Energy Economics, has authored several articles on energy and environmental policy themes, made numerous presentations at national and international fora, and provided professional reviews and advice to many countries on a range of energy policy issues.
